How we vet recipient partners
At Wheels for Hope, we prioritize accountability and trust when selecting our partner nonprofits. We work primarily with food banks that are affiliates of the Feeding America network, which maintain high standards for transparency and effectiveness. Our vetting criteria include a 4-star rating from Charity Navigator, low overhead costs of less than 10%, and a program ratio of 90% or higher as reported on their Form 990. This ensures that your contributions are directed to programs that operate efficiently and effectively.
How proceeds flow
Once your donated vehicle is towed and processed, approximately 70-80% of the gross sale proceeds go directly to our partner food banks. This enables them to fund their critical operations and expand their programs aimed at feeding those in need. Importantly, each partner's program ratio then applies, ensuring that your donation has a maximum impact where it counts the most.
